We welcome you to Parnasas – a mountain of knowledge, a site designed to bring together emegency managers across the United States and its territories to share ideas and trends that may enable each of us to provide improved preparation and response in our respective jurisdictions.
This site was created in 2011 as a free service, arranged and personally paid for by a single county emergency manager in Idaho. Since its inception, only emergency managers from the State of Idaho were using the service, and then not frequently or to its fullest. The technologies used to provide blog and bulletin board formats require constant vigilance to prevent cyber attacks – recently, the site was under daily attack from hackers in Russia and China – and the cost of preventive maintenance became too great to justify leaving the full site open for little or no use. In 2013, the content was pulled and archived.
If new interest is shown in having and using this tool, the site owners/managers will re-consider opening portions of the board. If you are interested, a simple WHOIS google search will provide necessary contact information.
